What is Qi Gong yoga?
Qigong is an ancient Chinese exercise and healing technique that combines movement, mental concentration and breathing to increase and balance your vital energy, or ‘ Qi ‘. Some varieties focus more on breathing and meditation, while others are much more dynamic and are, in some ways, similar to martial arts.
What is the difference between Nei Gong and Qigong?

What is Qi Gong used for?
The aim of Qigong is to promote the movement of Qi (energy) in the body; this is done by opening certain gates and stretching and twisting energy channels. A key point in Qigong practice is relaxation and deep breathing, both of which are prerequisites to allow Qi to flow.
Can Qigong be harmful?
Qigong is generally safe. However, it is very important to learn from a knowledgeable and experienced teacher. Although it is rare for beginners to have problems while learning, you can get unnecessarily tired and end up with aches, pains and other problems if instructions are not correctly followed.
Does Qigong build muscle?
The stationary and slow-movement qigong exercises are excellent for developing qi and improving oxygen utilisation, while the walking exercises also help build cardiovascular health and stamina, but they do not build enough muscles.
How often should you do qigong?
The proper dosage of qigong for someone who is dealing with serious health issues is two 5-phase routines per day, once in the morning, and once in the evening or at night.
Is Nei Gong real?
Nei Gung is not a philosophy, but a technique and an art of inner cultivation. There are intellectual guidelines to the practice of Nei Gung, but it is ‘Inner Work’ which means effort has to be put in to develop real, substantial and testable skills.

Is it OK to shower after qigong?
Don’t shower or bathe. Two of my teachers warned against showering or bathing right before or right after qigong.
Can you overdo Qigong?
1. Obsessive Qigong Practice. As has been mentioned above, even something as simple and healthy as going for a walk can be harmful to you if you go about it in an obsessive way. Its an easy enough mentality to fall into – but if a little bit is good, more is not always better.
Can you teach yourself Qigong?
Qi gong is an energy art that can dramatically improve health, concentration and well-being. It can be undertaken by people of any age and with any physical limitation. Learning qi gong on your own is possible and valuable because the benefits are huge.
